The experience our daughter had at IFI was life changing. Although she always knew she wanted to go into film, IFI and the amazing staff helped her find her passion within the broad world of film. She met friends she will have for a lifetime and used the short film she created for her university applications, earning herself a spot at Sarah Lawrence for the fall of 2025.
This program is genuinely one of the best experiences I've ever had in my entire life. I went to the The International Film Institute of New York in the summer of 2024 and I absolutely loved the people I met and the things I got to experience while I was there. The amount I grew as a filmmaker and as a person during this time is truly immense. The professors care so much for their students and this program is a great way of seeing what college as a film student will be like. Even after the trainings themselves are done and we began to shoot our films, the professors still provided guidance along the way to make sure we were all where we needed to be by the end of film camp so that we would have a finished product that we were proud of. If you are considering applying for this program, DO IT. Not only am I incredibly proud of the work that I got to do while I was there, but I also made some of the best friends I've ever had. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.
