Person taking orders was kinda rude. Never got a total for my order, went to payment window and still never said my total. They just stick hand out and don't say a word :/ only give 2 stars because fries was actually hot and crispy that day. Of course had to ask for ketchup otherwise you'll get none.
Super frustrating experience with San Jose Camera and Video. I had gone in to get an older digital point-and-shoot camera as a gift for my friend. They were a little pricier than expected, but I had a conversation with the salesman on the phone and decided to come in to grab one anyways. Within a couple days my friend said the camera was giving her an error message- mind you she is a hobby photographer who knows how to operate cameras, as she personally owns MUCH more complex cameras. I called San Jose Camera and Video to let them know what was going on and ask what they think I should do. The guy rushed me off the phone and the only thing he said was “Bring it back.” I said, ok but she has to ship it here since she doesn’t live in state and he just said “bring it back.” So I brought it back within the 30 day return window. The same guy who sold it looked at it in the back and brought it out even worse- then he said you can’t return it since it’s broken. I’m confused why they wouldn’t tell me that on the phone? We had to go through the hassle and expense of shipping it back and forth and now we’re stuck with a broken camera that’s even more broken than it was before- now it’s making a rattling noise like a part has been dislodged inside. So frustrating.
Today, I dropped into SJC to upgrade my old Panasonic GF-1. ( Stop your laughing). I was met by salesman Mike who graciously listened to my concerns and illusive wants for my upgrade. He put together an awesome package for my camera and I am very happy with his expertise and consideration for what I wanted. Exceptional service, exceptionally good people. Thank you, Mike.
Great staff, incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. However, I purchased a tripod and decided to return it after three weeks (I had a work trip in between and couldn't make it in to the store sooner). Although I was well within the 30 days to return it, and it was clearly not used, the guy that helped me was NOT happy about me returning it. He was visibly annoyed. As much as I really liked their service when I first came in to the store, I don't know that I'll be back after that interaction. It was very uncomfortable and it felt asif i had done something wrong. If you go, make sure you are sure about your purchase or be prepared to have a similar interaction if you return anything.
Great selection of used and new cameras, lenses and other equipment. The sales people seem to go above and beyond in terms of customer service and accommodations every time I go here. A true staple of San Jose! So glad I got my first camera here
