Lovely store, really full of surprises. I’m not actually a photographer, but they have a great selection of interesting books, imaginative toys, and the staff was very friendly.i left with a couple of great books, toys for a grandchild and enjoyed the photo display.
The employee was inexperienced. He couldn't tell me about one of their most basic camera bodies (Pentax K1000) and got some details wrong when selling it to me. He also sold it to me without a body cap and NO packaging. I had to ask to get it wrapped and he put a piece of tissue paper around it. Essentially a bad place to get professional help. They treat this place like any gift shop in Bishop Arts -- not like a real camera or film place. I wouldn't trust them with my film.
It's rare I leave a 1 star, but this place kind of deserves it.. I drove 30 mins since the film store I normally get film from was closed.. I needed film for a last minute shoot I was gonna do.. I get there and I pulled on the door and it was locked and wouldn't budge.. Through the window I could see a woman walking around and I waited at the door thinking she would come open it or at least let me know they were closed or something.. Nothing.. I know the woman saw me because we made eye contact.. I tried opening the door again and still nothing.. I checked 3 times that I was there during business hours and I was.. Waste of time.. Thankfully I have my usual film place, and now I know not to visit this place
A perfect place for the film enthusiast, from film cameras and film to framing and books, they have a bit of everything. At their Deep Ellum location, you can rent the darkroom. They also have classes.
