I hate leaving negative reviews but I will in this case because I'm concerned another small business owner would be in a similar position. I own an S corp as a marriage and family therapist and had initiated services with Rob in 2023. Unfortunately I've had many issues with being able to get in contact with the team at Metzger. In the end of 2023, I had sent three emails that went about two months without a response and I only heard back from Rob when I had said I was going to discontinue services with him. He reached out immediately and was very apologetic and stated that he'd been out of town. I was willing to try again with him because he seems very kind. Around early March of 2024, I started reaching out weekly to get an update around how my taxes are looking for this year. I had heard nothing from Rob and wasn't getting any responses from my emails. I sent about one email a week with no response through March and then when we got into April (with Tax Day on April 15th), I started reaching out a lot more since I still didn't know anything about how my taxes were going and if all the necessary paperwork was in. I had also made a few phone calls and was reassured by the front of desk staff that Rob would call me back. It is now May 1st and I still haven't heard from Rob (or anyone else at Metzger) except Nikki, who is the only person at Metzger to consistently respond to me. I started reaching out to other tax companies in the area and only after finding a new accountant and calling Metzger to cancel my services with them did I hear anything from Rob - and even then, he didn't get on the phone but had his admin let me know he was sorry he dropped the ball. Even how the end was handled really bummed me out. I still don't know what fees will be incurred for my time with Metzger or if the IRS will be penalizing me for anything. I wish Rob had been willing to talk to me and explain what happened.
