I am interviewing multiple financial advisors looking for financial planning, retirement planning, and tax strategy. I was referred to Future You Wealth via NerdWallet after completing preliminary forms assuring I met the minimum criteria. However, I had a poor experience with the introductory call and will be looking elsewhere. I was scheduled for an introductory call with Will Toczylowski. Once we started to discuss numbers, he commented he didn’t want to be the one who had to tell me to “stop shopping on Amazon”. We never discussed what my day-to-day spending consists of, so the fact that this was his assumption of where my money is going was incredibly rude and condescending, let alone inaccurate. Even if it were true, his offhand comment was unprofessional and tactless. He continued the phone call with shortened phrases and a clipped tone, coming across as impatient and dismissive. There are ways to professionally tell a customer if they are not a good fit, and this wasn’t it. I will be continuing my search elsewhere - Future You Wealth was not worth my time.
