AVOID BENCO MANAGEMENT LIKE THE PLAGUE. I ultimately ended up paying $8k to get out of my lease. Upon expecting to receive my deposit back, I was instead served an additional bill for $560. Ultimately I had to hire a lawyer and threaten legal action just to get somebody on the phone. If you do choose to move forward with renting from Benco, here are some notes from my experience living in Moreland Lofts… Management - Management “Does not do phone calls” and is nearly impossible to get a hold of - Rent was raised $75 without notice which was explained to us as a water bill increase. - I had to have my front door replaced (my own fault) and was subsequently charged $3k with little explanation as to where that figure came from. The new front door was also left to sit in my apartment for 3 weeks as I waited for somebody to come to install it. - Upon moving out I was double charged for cleaning, painting, and concession pay back a total of ($1,805). The Building - Garbage and delivery trucks come almost every morning at 3–4 am shaking the building. - I initially lived in the ground floor apartment where I experienced people looking into my windows and stealing things off of my patio. Eventually, I was offered a 3rd-floor apartment but with the caveat that I put down a second deposit and sign a new 12-month lease. - My girlfriend was followed home by a man on a bike who then circled around the front of the building screaming at her until the police came. - My car and multiple others were hit while parked out front. All of these issues happened within a 16-month time frame and I could not be happier to be out. Please proceed at your own risk.
